Introduction
Late eighties' structural adjustment to reform the overall public sectors have brought efficiency in the economy to some extent through adopting the liberal market economy but still not enough to relieve the hardship of general people. In fact the reform is required in every aspect not only in public but also in private and donor supported organizations and institutions. Governance crisis, institutional weaknesses, pitiable functioning of public agencies, ad-hock decision making process, traditional business practices with inefficient financial sector has attributed the poor performance of the country's socio-economy. Hence, DMI is established to facilitate the process of management development in all these sectors in November, 2003 under Private Company Act of Nepal.
The firm's panel of energetic and experienced professionals in wide ranging fields, who are capable of bringing together diverse talents, technologies and management tools to render their services as full time and as resource persons

Objectives and scope of DMI
The ultimate objective of DMI is to develop management capacity in the development, public and private sector. This is not an easy task but is necessary to improve the working efficiency and effectiveness of organizations by instilling appropriate level of management know-how. Followings are the objectives set by the institution.

  • Provide technical and theoretical consultancy services to governmental, private and national and international NGOs,
  • Develop and conduct organization development and managerial capacity development programmes to governmental, non governmental and local governments (VDCs, Municipalities and DDCs),
  • Conduct research study and publish and sale research, articles and books,
  • Conduct training need assessment, training, workshop and consultancy service to governmental, NGOs and private sector in the field of human resource management and other capacity development areas,
  • Provide policy and implementation level consultation support to central, regional and local governments in the field of resource mobilization and management,
  • Develop information technology and e-governance for easy excess of service and facilities,
  • Provide policy and implementation support to central, regional and local governments in planning and programming and financial management improvement,
  • Provide technical and consultancy support in the areas of social, economic, management and administration,
  • Contact and coordinate with national and international governmental and non-governmental institutions to achieve objectives of organization,
  • Provide necessary service in all functions, consultancy and service to individual institution and company

Organization
The company has Board of Directors (BoDs) who provide policy, guideline and direction to the company to achieve it's objectives. The organization structure adopted Virtual Organization concept, which is run by small core team and has capacity and linkage to conduct several big projects at once through out sourcing. Regarding day to day activities, the firm is divided into two major divisions; which are headed by directors. To support division chiefs, qualified and experienced regular staff of various fields to back up division heads.

Financial Standing
DMI as a company is financially sound to undertake any training, studies, management development and planning development job. We have at our disposal at present adequate assets and resources, which can be effectively mobilized for the purpose of the proposed job.
As per the applicable laws and regulations, DMI, as a Private Limited Company which has to get its account audited for every fiscal year by a recognized auditor by the office of the Auditor General of Nepal. The audited accounts and the auditor's report are then submitted to the Income Tax Office of the Government of Nepal and the income tax is cleared for every fiscal year.


Location
DMI is located in the central part of the Kathmandu City at Kalikasthan. The office is well equipped with office furniture and field equipment facilities and other logistic support.
